New Friday Rotation Schedule for 1/2-day
Kindergarten Begins Fall of 2010:
Attendance for half-day Kindergarten students on Fridays will look a little
different starting with the 2010-11 school year. AM and PM Kindergarten
classes will take turns rotating attendance every other Friday. (Our District
dismisses students two hours early every Friday.) Click here for dates
around this rotation: 10-11 HALF DAY
KINDERGARTEN FRIDAY SCHEDULE. With this
rotation, half-day Kindergarten students will be attending a longer day every
other Friday-- from the start of the school day until school is released two
hours earlier than its regular Monday-Thursday dismissal time. (Check with your
elementary school for its Friday school hours.) On these Fridays,
half-day Kindergarten students will need to either bring a lunch from home or
set up a lunch account at the school. Free and reduced lunch applications
are available in the school office.
The Friday Kindergarten Rotation Schedule is being implemented to provide a
more concentrated learning opportunity for half-day Kindergarten students every
other Friday and to conserve transportation costs. It is a change from the
current practice of servicing both AM and PM Kindergarten groups in ¼-day increments
(about 1.5 hours) every Friday.
